What are CowPots made of?
CowPots are made right here on our dairy farm in Connecticut. We use the nutrient rich, composted manure from our 300 cow dairy herd to make CowPots. Our cows eat a mixed ration of forages that we grow on our 600 acres of cropland – grass and corn as well as a supplement of grain to balance their diet.
The manure is collected from our barn every day, passes through our methane digester where we collect methane to burn as a biogas. The solids are then separated from the liquids (liquids are stored in a lagoon until we can apply them to our cropland as fertilizer). The solids are then composted and finally brought to our CowPots factory where that manure is then formed into 12 different styles of CowPots as well as custom products.
